I have been lucky to be able to visit the CasaCor house in Campinas, Brazil. CasaCor is a company that regroups designers an architects. After selecting a bad shape or abandoned Ā house each team of designers and engineers is assigned a room or garage, or backyard. They have to create a showroom, Ā being creative and using local materials. Of course, in Brazil woods is very popular and a source of inspiration.

On the Brazilian nature note, in the garden a beautiful tree caught my attention . TheĀ JabuticabaĀ tree ( last pictures ). Itā€™sĀ s a fruit-bearing treeĀ native to Minas GeraisĀ and Sao PauloĀ states in southeastern Brazil.Ā The tree is grown for its purplish-black, white-pulped fruits; they can be eaten raw or be used to make jellies and drinks (plain juice or wine).Itā€™s very good .

Ile de Re, part 2

From the mainland to the island, we had to take a bridge to cross the Atlantic ocean. You can cross it by walking, biking or driving, it’s about 1,5 miles long.

At the far end of the island, there is a very nice lighthouse, “The whales lighthouse” built in the 19th Century and still working today…

I love lighthouses, when I was a little girl my dream was to live in one of them. I don’t know, there is something fascinating about them that I can’t explain.

About 300 steps to go up… Unfortunately, we stayed down, the kids wouldn’t have been able to climd without being carried and it would have killed us!

So we walked around…

Ile de Re

Since we are back to France, we are visiting friends and family, some of them for the first time in 9 years… So you can understand why I was delighted to find myself alone with my camera in hand walking in the streets of Saint Martin de Re in the lovely island of Re. My daughters were at the beach with their father and friends and at the end of my walk I was feeling lighter and relaxed.

The “roses tremiere” are wild flowers that grow everywhere in the area. Unfortunately it’s the end of the season so they are not as full bodied as they are supposed to be. Ā Walking in the narrow streets, only place for pedestrians and bicycles, it’s no wonder the island is the paradise for bikers.

The colors on the island are stunning blues, greens, reds…

I really don’t know what not to love about “Re”… Probably too crowded in high season but I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them.
